Leopard gecko safe setup checklist

Create a proper temperature choice

The enclosure should give a warm area, cooler area and humid hide. Temperature should be measured where the gecko actually rests.

Warning: Heat sources need safe control and must not create burn risk.

Feed insects properly

Insects should be correctly sized, gut-loaded and dusted according to a supplement plan. Obesity is common when feeding is too generous.

Helpful tip: Track weight and tail condition rather than guessing from appetite alone.

Handle with tail safety in mind

Leopard geckos can drop their tails under stress. Keep handling low, calm and short while trust builds.
